‘Breath of the Wild’ sequel ‘Tears of the Kingdom’

We have some news coming for you from the world of gaming. Nintendo has eventually and finally declared the name and release date of the sequel of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It is a game that defined the Nintendo Switch and very quickly become one of the most popular, loved, and critically acclaimed games of the modern gaming era. The sequel is titled as “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It is going to hit the Nintendo switch on May 12, 2023.

The introduction of the Tears of the Kingdom was done at the Nintendo Direct event on Tuesday. From the initial looks of the teaser, it seems that the new game is built on Breath of the Wild’s gameplay. It had a sword and shield-toting protagonist Link who is scaling mountains and is hand gliding through the skies.

He also solved brilliant and maddening puzzles in the shrines which are scattered throughout the map. The teaser begins with a sparkling fire-lit view of the old and ancient engraving which depicts various historical events. Link then makes an entry and dives from the cliff and then catches a ride on a bigger but eagle-shaped hand glider.

The video is short and we don’t get to learn much but it kind of looks like the free-roaming mobility which helped to make the first game such a hit is back. It looks like some parts of the Tears of the Kingdom are set among the clouds. It has floating islands which could introduce more verticality than what we saw in Breath of the Wild.

Since the release date is announced, fans are also literally counting the days to play their beloved game. The company was planning to launch the game in 2022 which they failed to do and they decided to extend the development time to 2023 and then release the game. From the teaser of the short video, it seems that the delay was worth it.

The Breath of the Wild was released in 2017 and it sold over 26 million copies.
