East Bengal vs Mohun Bagan Durand Cup Final, Highlights

Mohun Bagan Super Giant and East Bengal FC, two fierce rivals in Indian football, competed against one another to win the Durand Cup championship. For the first time in 23 years, Mohun Bagan SG triumphed in the game at Kolkata’s Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan by defeating East Bengal 1-0.
With a record 16 titles each in the Durand Cup, Mohun Bagan SG and East Bengal FC are two of the most successful teams.
The last time these two clubs played was in the 2004 Durand Cup final, which East Bengal FC won 2-1 at Delhi’s Ambedkar Stadium to tie their opponent’s record of 16 championships.
East Bengal and Mohun Bagan are playing one other in a major event final for the first time since 2010, according to an Indian Super League (ISL) press release. In the 2010 Federation Cup final, East Bengal FC defeated Mohun Bagan by a score of 1-0.
As one of the two second-best teams, Mohun Bagan Super Giant advanced to the quarterfinals after placing second in Group A. In order to face East Bengal FC, they first defeated the 2022 champions Mumbai City FC, and then they defeated FC Goa in the semifinals.
